Essay

My package design conveys my product which is: Heavenly Pretzels in a effective way. I used glow effects and put wings on most of the pretzels to represent a "heavenly" quality of my product. Also I repeated my logo several times on my package to emphasize my company name.

My design conforms to the rule of thirds on the front of my package the most effectively. You first go to my logo:"Heveanly Pretzels", then your eyes go to the big pretzels with wings and finally the banner on the bottom of the front package. The bottom includes the type of pretzels and the words "fat free". Then after that your eyes go to the pretzels in the background.

I feel I put emphasis on my design by repeating my logo several times. I also you used a contrast of colors being: black, blue, brown, and yellow. I change the scales of my logo from being the center of attention on the front and making it smaller on some of the other panels. I balanced and repeated the blue strip across the bottom of each panel. The blue strip is equally placed on each panel. I think I aligned the nutritional and other informational so that it was easy to read. I implemented flow by having sides of each panel similar in design and color.

I chose the colors brown to represent the pretzels. I used yellow to represent a heavenly quality. I used white and blue to represent the sky and clouds as almost to imply a heavenly quality. I used actual pictures of pretzels to show the realness and hopefully make consumers hungry. This is why I also put a picture of a recipe for pretzel chicken to give the consumer other choices. The consumer could enjoy the pretzels as is or use it in the recipe printed or any recipe they happen to find. I wanted use a fun and not so boring font. I used hobo font type because its fun and a little whimsical and kind of ties in with my product design. I then used a more boring font for the informational parts of my design, like the ingredients.

I chose to commemorate the Tennis Hall of Fame. I chose a Bauhaus design style. I think my stamp uses elements of the bauhaus style through different ways. It uses simple geometric shapes and lines. I think the design is a simple design and the Germans were all about simplifying their designs through the Bauhaus movement.
